Jerry Kanney earned his B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration from Findlay College in Findlay, Ohio, in 1974. Mr. Kanney moved to Pikeville in 1977 and held the position of vice president of Pikeville National Bank & Trust before starting his own CPA firm in 1981.

Dennis Rohrer, originally from Minnesota, developed his knowledge of the oil and gas fields in Eastern Kentucky in the 1980s. It was a unique friendship and a shared vision that led to the partnership which created Interstate Natural Gas Company in 1989.

Interstate Natural Gas has experienced tremendous growth in the past 19 years starting with Kanney and Rohrer handling all of the operations themselves to currently providing work for more than 250 employees. They have drilled or purchased over 600 wells in Eastern Kentucky and West Virginia and will drill over 300 wells in 2008.

Interstate Natural Gas Company owns, operates, or leases gas wells located in the highlighted counties.
